Steven Chen, MD

A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Steven Chen practices Family Medicine in Oakland Chinatown and the Contra Costa County clinic system. Steven serves urban, immigrant, refugee, multi-ethnic, limited English proficiency, and low-income families. A Taiwanese-American, Steven continues to develop more fluency in Taiwanese, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish to better serve the communities he serves.

Committed to blending integrative medicine with social justice medicine, Steven is developing a sustainable model by which Community Health Centers can provide Integrative Medicine modalities to patients, and train health professionals in these modalities. He seeks to blend acupuncture, osteopathic manipulation, nutrition, and therapeutic counseling approaches into his primary care practice.
