Explore Your Talents and Passions

Explore Your Talents and Passions

To find purpose and live life accordingly, you should take time to examine:

Your talents:

It is important for you to discover your gifts – both those that you are already aware of and those that you would like to explore. It might help to think about different areas of possible talent: linguistic, logical, spatial, musical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalistic.

Your passions:

Once you have identified your gifts, explore where you can you apply them. To help find this out, you may ask yourself:

  • What needs doing?
  • What issues do I feel someone needs to do something about?
  • What are the needs of people, in my family, neighborhood, community, business, organizations, the world?
  • How would I use a gift of a million dollars if it had to be given away?

When your life and work decisions are based on your gifts and passions, the power of purpose emerges, bringing alignment, energy, flow, and aliveness (Leider, 1997).
