David Becker, MD, MPH

David K. Becker is Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at UCSF. He received his MD and MPH degrees from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. After completing residency training at UNC in 1999, he worked with international aid organizations, spending time in Sri Lanka with Doctors Without Borders until 2001. He began at UCSF in 2001 and remains a full-time clinician and educator.

He has developed skills in teaching self-regulatory skills to children with habit-related problems and chronic pain. He completed the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program this summer, and in January 2005, he received a scholarship from the Bravewell Collaborative for Integrative Medicine for a two-year Associate Fellowship in Integrative Medicine through the University of Arizona distance learning program.
